TRAINING

Providing the skills and knowledge of the trade is a valuable service offered to members and others by AEC-IEC. Electrical Apprentices are educated in our own Training Center by experienced and and knowledgeable members of the Electrical Trade who provide the highest quality in training. AEC-IEC offers license recertification courses certified by OCILB, ESI and the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Training events and other meetings are posted on the Education & Training and Meetings and Events pages of this Web site.

MISSION

To provide programs and activities designed to promote harmony, understanding and unity among Electrical Contractors of Central Ohio, to provide opportunities for quality education and training and to uphold practices and principles that protect our rightful heritage of free enterprise.

HISTORY

The Associated Electrical Contractors of Central Ohio, a non-profit organization, was founded in 1948 to unite area Electrical Contractors and to uphold the Merit Shop Concept of free enterprise. Associated Electrical Contractors of Central Ohio, joined with the National Association of Independent Electrical Contractors in 1995, and is now known as AEC-IEC.

The National Trade Association of Independent Electrical Contractors - IEC - is made up of more than 5,000 merit shop electrical and systems contractors with 75 chapters nationwide, and growing. IEC is dedicated to promoting the common interests of those engaging in the business of electrical and communications construction.

For over 20 years The Associated Electrical Contractors of Central Ohio, AEC-IEC, has sponsored a nationally recognized electrical apprentice program that is certified by the Department of Labor, and produces top of the line electricians for its members and the industry.

AEC-IEC has many participating members throughout Central Ohio; electrical contracting companies, large and small, and provides professional educational opportunities to Electrical Contractors and others.
